What are your requirements on the day for indoor events?

A string ensemble is very easy to set up, we just need one chair per person.

What are your requirements on the day for outdoor events? We can play outdoors depending on where we are situated and on the weather. For bookings of 40 minutes or more, we ask that we are not in direct sunlight so as to not damage the instruments. Similarly, we cannot play in adverse weather conditions, including light rain unless there is adequate shelter provided. We cannot play directly on the sand at a beach or near sea water spray. Please let us know if you have an alternate venue for wet weather.

Can you change locations during the same event?

Our string players can move from one location to another. This can take 5 – 10 minutes and we recommend having chairs set up in both places for a faster transition.

Will you need breaks?

We usually require at least a 5 – 10 minute break per hour depending on the length of the booking. We are more than happy to fit these breaks in with your schedule (speeches/formalities etc).

How much space will you need? 

For a String Quartet we require approximately 2 x 3 metres and for String Duo 1.5 x 2 metres.

Will there be a need amplification?

For most of our events, we do not require or supply amplification. When you book with Piano / singer we can hire out amplification. We may also be able to use sound at the venue. It is best to contact us for more information specific to your event and venue.

I have a friend/family member who would like to sing, can you accompany them?

We are always happy to accommodate other musical items at your event. We can also sometimes include a singer in some of our packages. Depending on the song and the experience of the singer we can accompany a singer for a few songs (String Quartet is recommended for this). We have a few arrangements for String Quartet and singer but would need to liaise with the singer about musical details beforehand.
